FlyWheel Sports Gansevoort Park

Rap and rock are Jamal’s go-to music choices. With nonstop upbeat songs, you‘ll never lose steam in his class. He has a sweet personality and a huge smile, which makes you feel good. That said, we typically enjoy a little bit more push from our instructors. Regardless, like most FlyWheel classes, you will sweat your a** off. The FlyWheel Gansevoot Park studio was spacious, clean, and amenity-heavy, everything we’d expect for $36.36.

WORKOUT

Jumps and hills ain’t easy with Jamal. He’s got some jacked legs, and you will too if you ride with him. We started off out of the saddle at 30 Torq and quickly turned it up from there. He had solid form and didn’t let riders get away with bouncing all over the place. We sprinted like hell and climbed for what seemed like forever. We raced, jogged, jumped, tapped it back – you name it, we did it. We left feeling energetic, strong, powerful, and very happy.

INSTRUCTOR

Jamal had the energy of a true New Yorker, which makes sense given he’s a native. That said, he was a gentle leader and didn’t have to yell to command the room. He smiled all the way through class and his happiness was contagious. Aside from needing a little extra push as times, we’d go back to Jamal for good music, a solid workout, and a feel good ride. Oh and did we mention this sweet soul is about 6’2 with big muscles!

SPACE

The FlyWheel Gansevoort Park location is spacious, which you can’t tell immediately when you walk in. It’s long and narrow and when you enter, the front desk is to the right with a long hallway to the left. The lockers are up against the left-hand side of the wall and the changing rooms and showers are on the right. The studio is in the far back left-hand corner. What’s unique about this studio? It’s connected to the Gansevoort Hotel and for those of you not familiar, it’s a NYC scene. The studio is conveniently located near the 6 train.
