WHY DID YOU BECOME A FITNESS INSTRUCTOR?

I fell in love with Core Fusion classes at Exhale when I was working at the front desk. I felt how much strength and confidence they were giving me and I wanted to impart that feeling onto others. I also love the community aspect of group fitness. It’s more than just exercise, it’s entering into a space filled with like-minded people. I enjoy creating and maintaining that environment in my classes.

FAVORITE GO-TO PUMP UP SONG?

Boys Noize Remix of Hot-n-Fun by N.E.R.D.

FIRST GROUP FITNESS CLASS?

A yoga class that my Dad took me to when I was 13!

FAVORITE MOVIE?

Moulin Rouge!  I’ve probably watched it more than a dozen times and I cry every time.

FIRST JOB?

Scooping ice cream at The Daily Scoop in Barrington, RI.  I scooped ice cream for 7 summers and would do it again in a heartbeat.

HOMETOWN?

Barrington, RI.  Shoutout to the 401.

FAVORITE JUNK FOOD?

Coconut almond chip ice cream with chocolate sprinkles on a wafer cone.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT?

Trina’s Starlite Lounge in Inman Square.

GO-TO WEEKDAY MEAL?

I love to eat eggs for dinner.  I’ll make an egg scramble with spinach, tomatoes, bell pepper, and black beans. Then throw a heaping pile of chunky salsa on top and eat it with toast. It looks like an absolute mess, but tastes delicious.

PERFECT SUNDAY AFTERNOON?

A 1pm Red Sox game. I love the Red Soxs almost as much as I love barre.

FAVORITE WORKOUT GEAR?

Black lululemon athletica Wunder Under Leggings and a back Power Y Tank. I’m almost always dressed in black, white, or grey, sometimes navy if I’m feeling feisty. You’ll never see me in prints.

WON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT?

My headphones and a pack of Orbit Bubblemint gum.

GUILTY PLEASURE?

Watching “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” for hours on end. And I’m not ashamed.

FAVORITE PLACE TO SWEAT WHEN YOU AREN’T TEACHING?

Title Boxing Club!  I started boxing there almost a year ago and I LOVE it.  Nothing gets the rage out like beating up a heavy bag.

IN TEN YEARS I WILL BE _____?

Still teaching in some capacity! I love teaching Core Fusion and I hope to do it for a very long time; however I have a lot of other interests that I would like to explore. I studied writing in college and it’s a long-term goal of mine to get back to writing regularly and possibly even get published.

TIMES A DAY YOU CHECK SOCIAL MEDIA?

Too many. I’m definitely one of those people on the T just scrolling through their Instagram. I also still love Twitter; I feel like it’s the perfect venue for my humor, I can be funny for 140 characters and then I have to take a break. Follow me if you like bad puns.

HAVE TOO MUCH OF?

Frye Boots.  It’s an addiction.

MORE ESSENTIAL: WATER OR COFFEE?

Water!  I have a huge Klean Kanteen water bottle that I carry around with me during the day.

GETS YOU OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING?

An aggressive alarm and knowing that my classes are going to be ready and waiting to get shit done.

CELEBRITY YOU’D MOST LIKE TO MEET?

Mick Jagger

WHO INSPIRES YOU?

My work crew. We have an incredibly strong teaching team at Exhale and I’m so lucky to also consider many of them as my friends. We are always supporting each other and pushing ourselves to be as strong as we can both individually and as a group. It’s an awesome thing to be a part of.
